Who handles reservations, and do you need separate bookings?
Las Torres Patagonia and Vértice Patagonia handle different W Trek sectors. Direct bookings across their accommodation networks require separate operator transactions unless your seller explicitly bundles the itinerary.
The sector-to-operator reference is:
- Central: Las Torres Patagonia; use its official reservation channel and confirm the selected accommodation product.
- Chileno: Las Torres Patagonia; reserve the specific overnight product offered for your dates.
- Francés: Las Torres Patagonia; check accommodation type rather than assuming a refugio bed is available.
- Cuernos: Las Torres Patagonia; confirm the category and inclusions shown in your reservation.
- Paine Grande: Vértice Patagonia; use its official reservation channel and confirm your overnight selection.
- Grey: Vértice Patagonia; reserve the required accommodation and services through its official channel.
Las Torres Patagonia was formerly named Fantástico Sur. Older references to that name concern the same company, not an additional accommodation operator.
Accommodation reservations are required for the W, according to CONAF. A third-party package may coordinate them, but its written inclusions must identify what is secured. Accommodation and park admission are distinct: admission is handled through Pases Parques.
When do bookings open, and how can you check dates?
Look for announcements naming your intended season on each operator’s website. If dates are missing, ask whether that season has been released and which booking channel applies.
An unavailable result might mean:
- Inventory has not yet been released.
- The selected accommodation is sold out.
- A minimum-stay or package restriction affects the search.

Do not choose an explanation without confirmation. Send the operator your dates, sector, group size and requested accommodation type. Any opening-date announcement you rely on should identify its season and official source; record when you checked it.

Compare the whole itinerary before committing, then reconcile every transaction. Use this W Trek accommodation booking sequence:
- Compare every night: check required sectors and dates across both operators.
- Record selections: note accommodation category, bedding, meals and passenger details.
- Read conditions: check payment deadlines, cancellation rules and whether any reservation hold actually applies.
- Complete transactions: follow each operator’s payment and confirmation process.
- Reconcile confirmations: match all booking references against your itinerary before treating it as complete.
Checkout with Las Torres does not secure Vértice inventory, or vice versa. A cart, inquiry or unpaid request is not evidence that a bed is held. If the operators cannot confirm a temporary hold, allow for the risk that remaining inventory changes between purchases.
What is included, and what costs extra?
Only the selected product description and written confirmation establish inclusions. Do not assume that every refugio or accommodation category offers identical services.

- Package: identify accommodation, meals, transfers, admission and guiding individually. Anything unspecified needs clarification.

Camping is not an automatic fallback: it requires its own available, confirmed reservation and suitable equipment. Free or wild camping is forbidden, according to CONAF. Ask the operator whether a waitlist exists, whether cancellations return to public inventory and whether a package genuinely includes the missing night.

Must every night be secured, and is park entry included?
Secure every required overnight stop before treating the trek as confirmed. CONAF requires accommodation bookings for the W. Do not assume admission is included: check your seller’s inclusions and Pases Parques requirements.
Do unavailable dates mean sold out?
Not necessarily. Release status, restrictions or technical problems can also affect results. Ask the relevant accommodation operator before changing your route.
Can you reserve refugios at the last minute?
Only if the operators can confirm a complete, feasible sequence for your dates. Do not rely on walk-in beds, unconfirmed cancellations or camping without a reservation.
Should you book transport first?
Research connections first, but weigh cancellation exposure before purchasing non-changeable tickets. Check accommodation compatibility and official transport conditions together; neither booking guarantees the other.
